Dog Days of Summer Come Alive in August
The Dog Island Dog Show!
“A Howl For All”
Put a Smile on Your Face, Come to the 6h Annual Dog Island Dog Show!
There will be hugging, kissing, petting, sniffing and lots of tail wagging at Schoolhouse Park Saturday, August 24th as dogs compete in the Dog Island Dog Show.
Complete this form and register by mail through August 20th or register onsite the day of the event.
Mail registration is $12 for a single dog and handler, $17 family.
Onsite registration will be available from 10 to 11:15 am. $15 per single dog and handler or $20 per family. The Guemes Island Historical Society sponsors the event with all profits designated for the organization’s operations and proposed museum building fund.

Noon: Class 3: Best Groomed
12:15 pm Dog Demo: To Be Determined
12:30 pm Class 4: Hot Dog Catching Challenge
1:00 pm Class 5: Best Or Wackiest Trick
1:15 pm Class 6: Dog & Handler Look- Alike Contest
1:30 pm Class 7: Best Pair Of Dogs (Can Be One Handler With 2 Dogs Or Two Handlers And Dogs Paired Together)
1:45 pm Class 8: On Leash Obstacle Course
2:00 pm Closing Ceremonies: Judges’ Best Of Show & Peoples’ Choice Award
All Class winners will receive ribbons. Plaques will be awarded for the judges' "Best of Show" and for the "People's Choice" selection.
In addition to the show there will be information about the sponsoring Guemes Island Historical Society and a display of artifacts. A silent auction will feature items from island artisans and local businesses.
Last but not least there will be a variety of concessions.
